Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is an emerging technology which reduce the overhead of the medical specialists with the cost and the time of the patients. Diabetic patients have the problem of DR which can results in blindness. It is difficult to detect DR in its earlier age. Timely treatment and the controlled level of blood glucose can prevent various issues generated by DR. Current paper demonstrates the method for detecting Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) automatically using AI. The proposed model classifies the DR fundus images using AI methods. Deep learning approach of AI is applied to the publicly available dataset. VGG16 and EfficientNet models are implemented for the classification. VGG16 model outperforms with 99.44% classification accuracy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
