Abstract
- Falkner and Buzan provide a persuasive conceptual basis to understand the core challenges countries must overcome if equity and responsibility in international environmental policy are to be accepted and advanced by those with significant environmental great power. Buzan and Falkner argue that, while environmental power is a neutral concept, the balance of positive or negative power influences how a country is viewed by others. Crucially, contributors explore the relationship between great power status, the management of global international society and the nature of great power responsibility. [Extracted from the article]
