Abstract
- Grady uses a sand tank model to demonstrate the effects of hydrostatic pressure, uplift pressure, and groundwater flow on structures. If the video had begun traditionally with a description of groundwater flow paths around a dam, Grady would likely lose the attention of the viewer. Oftentimes in short YouTube videos, the math and physics behind natural phenomena are overlooked in the interest of keeping the video approachable for all audiences. [Extracted from the article]
