Abstract
- A literary criticism of the novel "Snow Crow" by Zijian Chi is presented. It outlines the physical and mental responses of the people in Harbin and their tendency to see the outbreak through metaphors. It reveals that along with showing the progress and development of epidemiology, Snow Crow sheds light on how the quarantine tradition in ancient Chinese dynasties develops from instinctive self-isolation to government-led quarantining.
