Regulation of α-synuclein homeostasis and inflammasome activation by microglial autophagy.

The article presents a study to examine the functionality of microglial autophagy in different cells, how it helps in maintaining alpha-synuclein homeostasis, and demonstrated that dysfunctional microglia contribute to neurodegenerative diseases. It discusses the roles of microglial autophagy in activating inflammasomes in Alzheimer's disease animal models and Parkinson's disease (PD) experimental models.
