Abstract
- Due to the shifting customer pursuit towards fashion comfort and function people,s demand for high-quality fabrics has generally increased. Polyester yarn has many excellent characteristics such as few slubs high strength and good elasticity which makes it occupy an increasing proportion in the field of clothing. However polyester fabrics have some problems such as easiness to have rungs poor softness and poor moisture permeability. Thus it is important to improve the wearability of polyester fabrics. However the previous studies mainly focused on improving the wearability of polyester fabrics by chemical methods or controlling some special factors. By studying the combing process of cotton spinning it can be seen that combing can improve the separation parallelism and uniformity of fibers. Therefore in this paper the combing process was introduced and the HC380H chemical fiber comber was used to comb the polyester slivers. Then the sliver blending process was used in drawing process and the carded pre-drawing slivers were blended with combed slivers with different combed fiber contents. In the spinning process 14. 8 tex yarn was produced by compact spinning technology and the effects of different combed polyester fiber contents and structures on the wearability of fabrics were studied by selecting woven fabrics with different structures. Six groups of pure polyester yarns with different combed fiber contents and one group of carded polyester yarn were designed. Plain weave and 2 / 1 twill weave were designed and weaved to study the effects of combed polyester fiber content on the wearability of woven fabrics. At last the anti-pilling tendency tensile properties tearing properties fabric style air permeability and moisture permeability of the fabric were tested and then the effects of different combed polyester fiber contents and structures on the wearability were compared and analyzed. It is shown that the combed fiber contents and structures have a direct impact on the moisture permeability air permeability fuzzing and pilling tensile properties tearing properties and fabric style. With the same combed fiber content plain fabrics exhibit better tensile properties fuzzing and pilling properties while twill fabrics possess better moisture permeability air permeability and tearing properties and are also softer and smoother. Under the same structure when the proportion of polyester combed fiber is 66% the fabric has good moisture permeability tensile properties flatness and smoothness. When the polyester combed fiber content is 100% the tearing property fuzzing and pilling properties of the fabric are the best. The subsequent yarns and woven fabrics are influenced by the ratio of polyester combed fiber content. Compared with carded fabrics the fabrics containing combed fiber perform better on comfort strength softness and smoothness. However when the content of polyester combed fiber is higher than 66% the differences in the main quality indicators of the fabric are no longer obvious. The research results can provide a reference for developing high quality and cost-effective polyester woven fabrics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
