Abstract

The debates between the UK and the European Union since the time of former Prime Minister David Cameron ended with the Brexit referendum held in the second quarter of 2016, so the United Kingdom left the European Union membership and had to continue in the global arena on its own. The alliance between parts has also included many conflicts and disagreements since the start of membership, 1973, till now, and the series of conflicts have mostly resulted from economic, political and social reasons. In this direction, the aim of the study is to evaluate the developments after Brexit and the expected possible situations in the upcoming period, both in terms of the United Kingdom and the EU, from the point of (1) economic, (2) legal rights and (3) foreign policy by analyzing the Brexit process of the UK under two sub-headings as political/social and economic reasons since the time of Conservative Party leader David Cameron. The main argument of the study is based on the fact that both actors have been adversely affected in terms of economic and legal rights after Brexit, on the other hand, they have a desire to create new strategies and maneuvering areas for themselves in order to become dominant in the international system in terms of foreign policy.
