Abstract
- It is shown that ductile cast iron with spheroidal and vermicular graphite (DCISVG), in its mechanical properties, takes a place between vermicular graphite iron or compacted graphite iron (CGI) and malleable iron (MI) by analyzing theoretical and experimental information. DCISVG corresponds to CGI, and in terms of plastic - to MI in strength properties. A wider range of mechanical properties of DCISVG can be obtained by varying the microstructure of the pearlite / ferrite and nodular / vermicular graphite ratios. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
