Abstract

• WO 3 nanoparticles was synthesized by hydrothermal method with rectangular platelet structure. • The constructed PANI-WO 3 nanocomposite for electrochemical sensor for dopamine. • The sensitivity range from 20 to 300 μmol/L with the lowest detection limit to be 0.139 μmol/L. In this work, an enhanced electrochemical sensor for dopamine (DA) is constructed based on the tungsten nanoparticles with a polyaniline nanocomposite (PANI-WO 3) coated glassy carbon electrode (GCE). The obtained PANI-WO 3 /GCE film displayed a notable enhancement of electrocatalytic activity for DA with significant redox property. The PANI-WO 3 /GCE sensors displayed excellent detection for DA with a detection limit of 0.139 μmol/L revealed a good linear relationship with concentration from 20 − 300 µM (S/N = 3). PANI and WO 3 composite shows significant electrochemical oxidation of DA. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
