Abstract
- The article argues that neurodivergent cognitive ability narratives do not satisfy for logical inclusion in crime control policy frameworks in the U.S. Topics discussed are deviance as pathological cause of crime, stereotypes around the relationship between intellectual and development disabilities and prediction of criminal offending or criminogenic risk, and latent constructs for understanding criminal offending including psychiatric-diagnostic categories and psychosocial functioning.
