Abstract

The low impedance dual line pulse modulation systems based on Fractional-turn Ratio Saturable Pulse Transformer (FRSPT) are difficult to obtain ideal square pulses.In this paper, a dual-switch modulation technique was proposed.On the basis of the single switch used in the traditional dual line pulse modulation system, a shaping switch was added to change the pulse forming process, so that the quality of output pulses were effectively improved.In this paper, theoretical calculation and simulation analysis of the dual-switch modulation technique was carried out.And preliminary experimental investigations of two different dual line pulse modulation systems based on Pulse Double Forming Line and Blumlein flat plate PFN were studied.The results showed that the dual-switch modulation technique can solve the problem of the large saturable inductance and outputting excellent quasi square pulses with fast leading edge when using magnetic switch as the main switch in different type of dual-line pulse modulator system.This study can provide a reference for the application of dual-switch modulation technique in the dual-line pulse modulator system.
