Abstract

Transition cell carcinoma (TCC) is the most common bladder neoplasm in dogs, being more frequent in older females and obese animals. It is found more easily in the bladder trine, so surgical treatment is palliative. Symptoms including hematuria and polyuria, which are nonspecific for differential diagnosis with other urinary tract disorders. The definitive diagnosis is made with histopathological examination, but there are ways to diagnose CCT in advance, but ultrasound, urinalysis and urinary cytology are means that can help in early diagnosis. Neoplasia has low healing potential and high mortality rate, thus making the prognosis poor. Thus arousing interest in finding different types of prevention, early diagnoses and new treatments, the present study reports a case of TCC in a canine female exposing the set of complementary tests used to diagnose previously, as well as the treatment done with cystotomy and chemotherapy with doxorubicin that showed good efficacy.
