Abstract

Conductive polyaniline has great application potential as a corrosion inhibitor in metal anti-corrosion field due to good chemical stability, electrical conductivity and adsorption. However, the poor solubility of polyaniline has severely limited its application as a corrosion inhibitor, so the effective improvement of solubility and enhancing the adsorption performance on the metal surface are the research focuses as a polyaniline corrosion inhibitor. The structural properties and corrosion inhibition mechanisms of conductive polyaniline were introduced, particularly, the modification methods such as small molecule acid-doped modification, linear macromolecular acid-doped modification, aniline derivative copolymerization modification, composite modification, low molecular weight modification and synergistic effect modification were reviewed, the advantages and disadvantages of different modification methods were briefly analyzed, in order to provide a reference for the subsequent modifications of conductive polyaniline.
