Abstract
- The C-Cu2O composite electrode was prepared from Cu sheet. The SEM showed that the C-Cu2O composite electrode had a micro network structure, which greatly improved the micro surface area. CO2 can be electrochemically reduced to CH3OH with C-Cu2O composite as cathode in alkaline ethanol solution containing KOH. The optimum conditions for the yield of CH3OH were determined by orthogonal design. The results showed that the Faraday efficiency of CH3OH was 82% when the electrolyte composition was 90% C2H5OH and 2 g/L KOH, the flow rate o£ CO2 was 10 min/mL, and the cathode voltage was -L0 V(vs.SCE).
