PADRINI E MADRINE: Considerazioni canonistiche su alcuni interventi di vescovi in Italia.

The article presents the interventions of some italian Bishops, produced from 2016 to 2022, on the question of the office of male sponsor/female sponsor of Baptism and Confirmation sacraments. The author, therefore, examines the canonical nature of episcopal interventions: they constitute an exception to the universal law contained in the Code of canon law given by a general decree, which has the nature of a particular territorial law. Finally, the need for a common practice for the various Italian Churches is emphasized and suggests using the occasion of the synodal consultation called by Pope Francis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
