Abstract

With this study we aim to present didactic proposals for the Spanish Language, from a variationist perspective, directed to the teaching of the language in Brazil in order to provide subsidies to Spanish teachers in the task of approaching the language in its diversity. For this, a theoretical foundation was sought in the assumptions of Sociolinguistics and, more specifically, of Educational Sociolinguistics (from the works of Bortoni-Ricardo, 2005, 2008) including the proposal of Pedagogy of variation (mainly in the light of studies by Faraco, 2008), first, data from interviews with teachers in the state of Paraná are presented regarding their practice related to the approach to language variation, covering the didactic resources used and, secondly, didactic proposals are presented that include the variation of the Spanish language. The results reveal a positive scenario, since most teachers seek to deal with the varieties of the Spanish Language, which points to the need for adequate teaching materials for this purpose. Therefore, didactic proposals were suggested in order to subsidize the teaching work regarding the treatment of linguistic diversity in Spanish language classes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
