The present article examines the public and private debts of the Hoxholli household, who were the provincial notables of Dibra before and during the eighteenth century. By examining the household's estates in line with the debt relations, it offers another case study with respect to the continuity of the provincial notables. Investigating the public and private debts collection of which took several years, the study sheds light on the increasing competition on land once held by notables and the new political actors seeking footholds in the provinces by acquiring the very same lands.
