Abstract

Sintered tungsten electrode materials with different proportions of lanthanum oxide, yttrium oxide and zirconia were prepared by solid liquid doping, isostatic pressing and intermediate frequency sintering. The effects of different proportions of lanthanum oxide, yttrium oxide and zirconia on the microstructure, second phase particle distribution and macroscopic mechanical properties of the samples were investigated. The results show that the addition of lanthanum oxide, yttrium oxide and zirconia can effectively improve the distribution of the second phase particles in the tungsten matrix, reduce the over enrichment of the second phase at the grain boundary, and improve the comprehensive mechanical properties of tungsten electrode materials. When the mass ratio of lanthanum to yttrium zirconium is 3; 1; 1,the material shows optimal comprehensive mechanical properties, the density can reach 96. 04%,the microhardness can reach 549. 37 HVo.3, and the compressive strength can reach 3 785 MPa. The reason is that under this ratio, the second phase particles are the smallest and uniform, the dispersion degree is the highest, and the refinement effect on the matrix grain is also optimal which is the average grain size of tungsten matrix is 10. 3μm.
