Abstract

The article reports on how the victories of leftist politicians in presidential elections in Chile, Peru and Colombia could undermine the campaign to isolate the government of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro. Also cited are the move by the U.S. to refrain from keeping pressure against Maduro due to oil shortage worries, and how Colombian President Gustavo Petro could advance Columbian-Venezuelan relations.
