A reprint is presented of an article "Analysis of eDNA to identify selected species in aquatic systems" published in annual journal for field herpetology and ichthyofaunistics. It mentions on the analysis of environmental DNA (eDNA) using molecular biological methods, and eDNA consists of the genetic material of animals and plants, which they constantly release into their environment through skin cells, mucus, excretions or during reproduction.
