Abstract
- This article presents a study on Q-sort patterns of self-evaluation in three neurotic clinic populations. This study compares the Q-sort responses of three distinct clinic populations. Patient samples are drawn from psychoneurotics attending: first, a university hospital psychiatric clinic, second, a city hospital psychiatric clinic and third, a city hospital medical clinic. This investigation is intended both to throw further light upon the nature of the population themselves and to reveal something of what underlies the compound or dyadic Q-Sort index, the self-discrepancy score, when the instrument is used by quite different types of individuals.
