Abstract
- In this paper, we researched the typical configuration characteristics of wheel loader and its movable arm was analyzed on the statics and simulated based on finite element. A bionic movable arm was designed which was inspired by the internal structure of bamboo. Moreover, the bionic movable arm was compared with the original movable arm through finite element analysis under four ultimate working conditions: positive load insertion, positive load digging up, offset load insertion and offset load digging up. Finally, the results show that the bionic movable arm meets the structural strength and its weight is 17.03% lighter than the original one, which indicates the lightweight design of the movable arm of the loader is realized.
