Rational Form of Amplitude and Its Asymptotic Factorization.

We provide arguments for the use of the rational form of unitarization, its relation with the diffraction peak shrinkage and asymptotics of the inelastic cross-section. The particular problems of the Regge model and the exponential form of unitarization with a factorized eikonal are discussed as well. A central role belongs to the asymptotic amplitude factorization resulting from Mandelstam analyticity and its symmetry over the scattering variables. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
