The article informs that starting with one of the more complex parts, Boeing Co. has completed the first full-scale prototype of a one-piece composite fuselage section for the 7E7 using methods intended for economical aviation manufacturing. Managers want to have just one set of tooling to make each of the fuselage sections. The piece is the tapered Section 47 aft fuselage segment that starts from the rear pressure bulkhead and extends forward past the No. 4 passenger door to join with the constant-diameter Section 46 barrel.
