Abstract

Green technology innovation under the innovation-driven strategy is an important means to alleviate economic-environmental contradictions, based on the three-dimensional framework of market-system -technology constructed by the theory of "asymmetric innovation", this paper deconstructs it into five subdivision indicators of marketization process, environmental regulation, government funding, R&D f unding investment and R&D personnel investment, using a combination of qualitative comparative an alysis (QCA) and necessary condition analysis (NCA), from the perspective of configuration, regional di fferences in China's green technology innovation. Key drivers and implementation paths are studied. T he results show that: (1) The distribution of China's green technology innovation level shows obvious r egional differences and agglomeration radiation effects, and the level of green technology innovation decreases from the eastern coast, the southern coast, the northern coast, the middle reaches of the Ya ngtze River, the southwest, the middle reaches of the Yellow River, the northeast and the great northw est comprehensive economic zone, and the agglomeration radiation effect in the eastern, southern an d northern coastal areas is more significant. (2) The NCA method shows that the marketization proces s, environmental regulation, government funding, R&D funding and R&D personnel investment are all necessary conditions (insufficient) for achieving 20% or more level of green technology innovation, of which R&D funding investment, marketization process and R&D personnel investment are more obvio us. The QCA necessity analysis shows that R&D funding is a necessary condition for achieving green t echnology innovation, and there is no necessary condition for non-green technology innovation. The QCA Essentials Analysis result set is a subset of NCA results, and the conclusions of the two methods c omplement each other. (3) QCA configuration analysis shows that there are two paths to achieve highlevel green technology innovation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
