It was an unusual opportunity that provided to the bahian educator Leolinda Daltro the contact with a Xerente indigenous group, when visiting Rio de Janeiro. Identified with the mission of educating them, she decided to accompany them on their return - making double journey - to the central Brazil region. In her work Da catechese dos indios no Brasil (1920) it can be seen that the mass of documents is inseparable from the society that produced it.
