Abstract

Aiming at the ultra-narrow gap welding process, the mathematical models of arc with different sheet tungsten electrode front end inclination angles and different sheet tungsten electrode included angles are established. The distribution of various physical fields of arc is discussed. The effects of the sheet tungsten electrode front end inclination angle and the sheet tungsten electrode included angle on the arc temperature distribution and the gas flow at different positions in the arc space are described. The effect of electromagnetic force near the cathode on the gas horizontal flow behavior is further clarified. Finally, the temperature distribution and pressure distribution of sheet tungsten electrode arc are experimentally verified. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
