Abstract

A 32-year-old woman, gravida 2 para 1 at 33 weeks' gestation, was referred for a third opinion regarding a large fetal liver mass. The couple sought approval for a termination of pregnancy, following a differential diagnosis of hepatoblastoma. A specialized ultrasound and fetal magnetic resonance imaging were repeated in our unit and the results were consistent with a presumed diagnosis of hemangioma. A Tru-Cut® (Merit Medical, Utah, USA) liver biopsy was performed confirming a benign hemangioma and the couple opted to continue with the pregnancy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
