- The article explores how Hometown News Media is making news free and profitable while selling local news. Topics include Daily papers started relying on national stories to fill their pages, leaving residents with less information to consume about their neighborhoods; and corporate acquisitions are associated with a decline in the quantity of local content produced as Hometown's community-driven articles expanded the media group's reach.
