Abstract

The research aims to identify the practice of multi-factor leadership among academic leaders at Al-Baha University according to some variables. The method is analytical descriptive approach. The sample consisted of (404) faculty members at Al-Baha University. A Questionnaire (MLQ) for Bass & Avolio (1999) was used. The results are: the highest percentage of practice in two styles of transformational and Transactional leadership together is (63.86%), followed by practicing the three leadership styles together (20.29%), followed by practicing the two styles of Transactional and Lassiez faire leadership together (8.66%). Practicing Lassiez faire is(4.45%). Practicing transactional leadership is (1.48%), and transformational is (1.23%). The degree of all dimensions for transformational are practiced highly. The dimensions of the transactional are high; except for management by exceptions (active) is a medium degree. The Lassiez faire rank is the third with a low degree. The results indicated that there were no statistically significant differences in the practice of multifactorial leadership styles depending on the type and academic rank, and the presence of statistically significant differences on the transformational and reciprocal leadership styles attributed to the years of experience in favor of (5-10), and there were no significant differences on the permissive leadership style. There are differences in the practice of permissive leadership style according to specialization in favor of humanitarian specialization. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
