Abstract

Background: Tuberculosis (TB) in Indonesia is ranked 2 (two) in the world after China. The government's program in the form of TB elimination by 2030 demands high case findings so that they are treated quickly and do not infect others. Treatment of this TB disease requires many types of drugs and for a long period of time, so that many patients do not continue treatment to completion and many other factors that affect patient non-compliance in TB treatment must be evaluated so that it can be the basis for improvements to health workers who play a role in treating TB. and provide knowledge to the public so as to improve patient compliance during treatment. Objective: to determine the factors that influence patient compliance during TB treatment. Methods: literature study from 2018 to 2022 and in Indonesian. The data were obtained from the Google Scholar database with the keywords tuberculosis, TB treatment and adherence. Results: This literature study found 11 articles that matched the inclusion and exclusion criteria, known factors that influence medication adherence, namely family support, positive self-esteem or self-efficacy, subjective norms, drug side effects, support for drug taking supervisors (PMO)., the use of medication reminder aids, the patient's desire to recover, the patient's way of thinking and the patient's knowledge about TB disease and the use of drugs according to the Ministry of Health standards, while the factors that have no effect on TB treatment are age, gender, education, occupation, attitude, behavior control, distance to health services and duration of treatment. Conclusion: health workers must know the factors that influence TB treatment adherence and which do not affect it so that the treatment is appropriate to completion. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
