Abstract

With dermatologists continuing medical education and patient education, including web-based materials, as well as counseling during office visits, these formulations can be used safely, with limited fear of EO. Therefore, 4% hydroquinone prescriptions may not be affordable to some patients and now cannot be purchased OTC at cheaper prices compared with other OTC hyperpigmentation therapies. Since topical hydroquinone is not available OTC, more patients will likely seek skin-lightening treatments, including 4% hydroquinone, from dermatologists. [Extracted from the article]
