Absent Treasure.

The article discusses the restitution of African cultural property. It explored the exhibition being presented in Benin which features ancient statues and thrones that have been pillaged from the Kingdom of Dahomey by the French military in 1892, the efforts of the Kumasi Traditional Council (KTC) of Ghana to recover cultural objects that have been seized in 1874 by the British Army, and the need for British institutions to acknowledge the emotions associated with lost cultural property.
