ATENÇÃO PRIMÁRIA E SAÚDE DO HOMEM: POTENCIALIDADES E LIMITAÇÕES.

This study is an integrative literature review that aimed to identify the strengths and limitations that influence men's health care in primary care. The searches were carried out in February 2022 and the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) and Virtual Health Library (BVS) databases were used to select the articles. As a result, 6 articles were included in this study. In this analysis, it was possible to identify that men seek urgent and emergency services more frequently because they disregard the option of prevention and/or do not give importance to the first symptoms, seeking help only when the problem is already established. One of the limitations of this study are studies that explore the potential of primary care services in the context of men's health, since it is still a point that has been little approached and discussed. Therefore, it is necessary that future research specifically focus on the positive aspects of primary health care for male users. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
