In California, the Food and Drugs Administration has approved the single-use vial of ISTA Pharmaceuticals Inc.'s hyaluronidase injection ovine sterile solution for use as a spreading agent in the dispersion and absorption of other drugs. The company said it would launch the new vial size and the larger 6,200-USP Units multi-purpose vial early in the first quarter of 2005. OXiGENE Inc., is launching a phase II clinical trial of its lead compound, Combretastatin A4 Prodrug, in patients with myopic macular degeneration under an investigational new drug application submitted to the FDA.
