Abstract

In rural areas due to the low capacity of resources on the one hand and the increase in demand, on the other hand, the use of load management will be a little different. In this paper, load energy management programs considering three modes are used to minimize the cost of operating a rural multi‐microgrid system and increase the accessibility of its controllable load. Consumers in this paper are divided into two sets of controllable and uncontrollable loads, and microgrids will respond economically to the energy management system due to the capacity of renewable resources and distributed generation. Consumption coordination in the form of an optimization program with a mixed‐integer nonlinear programming mathematical model is designed to reduce the overall operating costs in the microgrid. For microgrid's lowest cost, three different scenarios including only the use of uncontrollable loads, simultaneous use of uncontrollable and controllable loads, and the use of adjustable generation sources with considering generation ceiling of distributed generation have been used. Simulations have been performed in different scenarios in a modified IEEE 33 bus system in the GAMS environment with different solvers to achieve the best response, which shows a significant reduction by LINDO and DECOPT solver. © 2022 Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.
