Industrial Testing of Technology for Purification and Remelting of Secondary Babbits.

The results of industrial tests, a developed technology for purifying and remelting babbits, produced from worn-out liners in sliding bearings in industrial equipment, are presented. In the present work, the development of a site at the enterprise for regenerating old bearings and the refusal of imported sliding bearings are addressed. The results were obtained at JSC "Ferganaazot," many experimental melts were carried out under various burdening options. The bearing shells made of secondary babbitts meet the quality standards in structure and properties of sliding bearing shells. In general, the properties of secondary babbitt meet the requirements of consumers for renewing sliding bearings. The research results will be used at other enterprises of the Republic of Uzbekistan to develop sites for processing babbits and establish new technological processes for renewing and increasing the service life of sliding bearings.
