Abstract

The High Court of Justice of Cantabria has endorsed the approval of the Annual Hunting Plan of the Saja Regional Hunting Reserve for the 2019-2020 season. The environmental association that challenged the plan argued that the process of public participation and information was omitted and that the technical justification and evaluation of the consequences were insufficient. However, the court dismissed the appeal, stating that calls were made and that the lack of scientific studies does not invalidate the plan. It is highlighted that the appellant participated in the advisory board and the process of public information was respected through the websites of citizen participation and the Government of Cantabria. Furthermore, it is concluded that the plan complies with the regulations on natural heritage and biodiversity, as well as with the planning and management of the regional hunting reserves of Cantabria.
