Abstract
- In chapter 11, Yolanda Covington-Ward explores how routinization of non-mainstream religious embodied practices impacts women's roles in a Protestant African independent church in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In chapter 4, Rachel Cantave explores how Pentecostal practitioners in Brazil work through multisensorial registers to achieve a pious sensory experience that affiliates them to their religion, but also internalizes an individualist discourse.
