Abstract
- In opposition to the "New High School" policy, the objective is to defend the Integrated High School, based on the discussion about the place of Art in an comprehensive education. Therefore, the conception of human and art formation is discussed, through theoretical research, based on Marx's formulations. A pedagogical experience built on Aesthetic Education in Professional Education is also used. It is concluded that, as a teaching content, under a critical perspective, Art can shift the insistent conception of professional and technical education, based on the know-how of a profession, to a broader horizon of formation of an entire human being. Thus, a critical proposition for teaching Art can contribute not only to the realization of Integrated Secondary Education, but also to educational projects to resist counterreforms in secondary education in Brazil.
