Abstract

A high voltage steps up converter suitable for renewable energy application has been presented here. The roposed converter has been derived from the basic SEPIC converter with two voltage multiplier cells (VMC) to produce high voltage transformation ratio. Operating principles are discussed thoroughly. The structure becomes modular as a pair of coupled inductor support for high conversion ratio reducing requirement with additional components. To verify the effectiveness of converter simulations are carried out with an input fed with 18V to produce 272V to deliver an output power of 140W. The switch stress and diode stress contributes to 36% of output voltage. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
