Pulmonary rehabilitation (PR), unlike other areas of rehabilitation medicine, is mainly aimed at patients suffering from chronic diseases, and thus one of its primary objectives is to prevent or at least manage exacerbations. It is a multidisciplinary intervention, which has physical exercise training as its cornerstone, but is not limited only to this: other interventions, such as education, bronchial clearing, and respiratory muscle training can enter the program, which must be tailored to the needs of the patient.
