Abstract

The article discusses a 2022 study on the human ds-prenyltransferase complex (hcis-PT) at the endoplasmic reticulum membrane that has a role in protein glycosylation. Topics covered include the hydrophobic active site core's flanking by regions consistent with separate inlet and outlet orifices, and the product elongation-membrane association correlation. Also noted is the membrane insertion support of the isoprenoid during catalysis, that uncouples active site volume from product length.
