Abstract

This is an empirical-analytical investigation that aims to find the relationship between the genetic testosterone marker (T) visible in a larger size of the ring finger with respect to the index, and the affective choice in people of the LGTBIQ+ community. To do this, a template was designed to measure the difference between the two fingers, which also contained male and female images of "strong" and "delicate" linear faces and a semi-structured interview. 54% presented high T and 34.5% low, and 11.5% symmetrical fingers; 13.5% chose the male face with the highest T, 14.5% with the lowest T, and 9% the female face with the highest levels of T. In the choice of couple who have higher levels of T choose the dominant attitude and a strong face (13%), and 11% the dominant attitude and the delicate face. The genetic influence of T on homosexuality should not be ruled out, as should the influence of parenting and the environment. The high T indicator is manifested in men and women but is higher in men. The T does not specifically influence the choice of the couple's face. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
