Abstract

A heatā€resistant soluble hyperbranched polyaryl ether ketone (HPAEK) is synthesized as the main resin of sizing agent and coated on the surface of carbon fiber (CF) with active group. As a result, the monofilament tensile strength of CF is increased by 12.00% and due to the improved fiber surface wettability and interface compatibility between CF and polyether ether ketone (PEEK), a 68.29% increase of interlaminar shear strength is achieved.
