Abstract
- The article presents information about use of complementary therapies in Great Britain. After many decades of conventional medicine being the only consideration in the treatment of its patients, the National Health Service (NHS) is beginning to embrace complementary therapies. One person who is helping in this change is Angie Buxton-King, the first paid healer employed by the health service. In the early 1990s, Angie became aware of complementary medicine when her mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and was offered healing as part of her treatment at the Bristol Cancer Center. INSET: The NHS healer.
