Abstract

In this paper, we develop the theory of nucleation and evolution of crystals during the intermediate stage of phase transformation processes in metastable melts and solutions with allowance for the Gibbs-Thomson and attachment kinetics effects. An exact analytical solution of non-linear model equations is found in a parametric form. It is shown that the distribution function represents a bell-shaped curve moving with time, and the liquid metastability reduces with time as a result of the evolution of a polydisperse ensemble of crystals in a supercooled (supersaturated) system.
