Abstract
- In this paper, we develop the theory of nucleation and evolution of crystals during the intermediate stage of phase transformation processes in metastable melts and solutions with allowance for the Gibbs-Thomson and attachment kinetics effects. An exact analytical solution of non-linear model equations is found in a parametric form. It is shown that the distribution function represents a bell-shaped curve moving with time, and the liquid metastability reduces with time as a result of the evolution of a polydisperse ensemble of crystals in a supercooled (supersaturated) system.
