Abstract
- In "The Crisis in Education", Hannah Arendt asks, what might the new have to offer to society? For Arendt, thinking was a necessary activity apart from action.[3] Yet, equally important, Arendt always kept a close eye on the issues of the day, the realities of the world. Rachel Longa's opening essay is suggestive of how theorists' and educators' failure to think conceptually about taken-for-granted practices in education can narrow what students derive from those practices.
