Abstract

The authors have mentioned most adverse effects of CBZ were minor, but 3 patients had to discontinue the medication due to rash, making the adverse effects severe in grading. Keywords: antiepileptic drugs; antiseizure medications; epilepsy; neurocysticercosis EN antiepileptic drugs antiseizure medications epilepsy neurocysticercosis 484 485 2 03/11/22 20220401 NES 220401 We read with interest the recent article titled "Carbamazepine versus levetiracetam in epilepsy due to neurocysticercosis" by Santhosh et al.1 The authors have concluded that carbamazepine (CBZ) and levetiracetam (LEV) could be used as alternatives in newly diagnosed patients of neurocysticercosis (NCC) at the behest of minor side effects in the CBZ group.
