Abstract

E-commerce in Latin America has experienced a 35% growth during the pandemic, reaching retail sales of 85 billion dollars in 2020. It is expected that this figure will increase to 160 billion dollars in 2025. Brazil and Mexico are the main players in Latin American e-commerce, but countries like Peru and Colombia have also experienced rapid growth. Despite the barriers prior to the pandemic, Latin American consumers are increasingly comfortable buying online and have found it to be safe and reliable. Argentina's retail e-commerce market is expected to be the fastest-growing in the world, with a growth rate of 79.0%. Returns of online products in Latin America are less frequent than in the United States due to taxes paid and the difficulty of recovering that money. Private courier companies like SkyPostal are considered reliable alternatives for shipping products purchased online in the region. [Extracted from the article]
